“ Kihei Caffe is definitely a busy tourist spot, but it was a must on my list because of their highly advertised macadamia banana pancakes. They’re open every day from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., making it a great option for early risers craving a hot coffee and a delicious breakfast. While the food is truly amazing, be prepared to pay more than at most places. Out of all the meals I had during my vacation, this was by far the most expensive. We spent just over 60 for two breakfast plates, and that didn’t even include a drink. One thing to note is they don’t serve tap water. When I asked for a glass of water to go with my eggs and pancakes, the cashier informed me that they only sell boxed water. Also, if possible, pay in cash because there’s a 3% fee for credit card transactions. They’ve also posted a sign letting customers know that there’s been an increase in meal prices that include eggs, due to rising costs. When you order at the cashier, an employee will seat you. Unfortunately, they placed me at a less-than-ideal spot, and when I asked if I could move, they said no due to the need for other tables. All in all, despite the few frustrations, the food really is worth it if you’re willing to pay the price. Just go in with realistic expectations and be prepared for some extra costs. Would I recommend it? Yes, especially if you’re craving something unique like those pancakes—but with a few things to keep in mind. ”
“ My friend highly recommended the banana macadamia nut pancakes, and she was absolutely right! Be sure to ask for the coconut syrup. As with many places in Maui, the portions here are generous—if you leave hungry, you clearly weren't at the Kihei Caffe. My husband tried the loco moco with spam, and I definitely experienced some plate envy; there's just something delightful about that gravy and spam combo—so tasty! If you arrive right at 6 AM, you won’t have to wait. However, if you prefer to sleep in, you might have to wait a little longer for a table. But trust me, it's worth it! ”

“ We ate here two mornings in a row on our trip to Maui and it would've been three in a row had we discovered it on our first day. Their breakfast is incredible. Everything is fresh and the portions sizes are hearty. The staff is so nice. The chef cooks up meals and has them served to you within 10 minutes of ordering. We timed it right and got there before 7:30am both days. After 8, there's a line out the door but it still moves pretty fast. There's plenty of outdoor seating. I recommend the Burrito supreme, banana macadamia nuts French toast, corned beef hash, and the build your own omelet. ”
